2009 Season

HECLA/GRINDSTONE PROVINCIAL PARK

Free park entrance all year

Guided Walks and village tours. Starting  Mid June.

Weekly nature activities and crafts for young people: Saturdays.

For interpretive programs contact program information at 279-2056.

Church Services June 28th to Sept 6th every Sunday @ 11am in the Hecla Community Church— non denominational, upbeat, casual, lots of music, and something for children as well.

Family fishing June TBA:   no fishing license required.

Commercial fishing demonstration: To be announced.  Watch a commercial fisher set nets on Saturday and then lift them on Sunday and enjoy a taste of the lake.

Parks days: July TBA. many special events.

Concert July 26th @ 2pm at Hecla Community Church with “Rick & Be Be” Country Gospel singers.

Hecla Village Annual Tractor Parade: Sunday August 2rd. Create your own float and come join in the fun. 2nd annual children's fishing derby 9am at Hecla Dock. Arts & Craft sale at the Community Hall starting at 10am. Parade starts at 1pm. Hot dogs, smokies, & pop available at the hall. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the day.

Grindstone Days: August 1-4: Special events at Grindstone.

Fisherman’s Service  August 23rd 11am Hecla Community Church “Blessing of the Fleet” ,following the service come and join us for a light lunch of fish chowder outdoors at the Solmundson Gesta Hus.

Out door Blue Grass Concert  August 30th 2pm at Gull Harbour Marina featuring “Alvin Elias & Borderline Drive” bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Wolf Howl:  September (TBA)
